Fashion Is BEAUTIFUL

To me fashion is beautiful. Fashion is such a broad statement, I understand that. To say fashion versus the Mona Lisa, do I mean that all fashion is beautiful? Even socks and sandals? Yes. While I could go the other route and speak to the beauty of an art piece admired by the world, I want to reflect on the beauty of the idea of fashion. Everyone has their own whether or not they care about it. Every culture, financial level, age, gender, etc, has fashion, and I think that is beautiful. It is beautiful because it connects us. Yes there are those whose passion is fashion, and those who study it, but at the end of the day none of us can escape it. Because we all have our own definition, and taste of the concept, the variety is huge. To one, socks and sandals are fashionable, to another it is a crime. That

is beautiful. We can all share the experience of having fashion but differ in our opinions. Fashion isn't like politics and I think that is especially beautiful. We can all differ in our styles and it doesn't create divide or cause war. To be an individual and to be accepted for that is rare in our world. Finding one's individuality usually stems from finding one's own fashion, and style. Individuality is the root of anything beautiful. I could be talking about the beauty of a rose or my favorite cafe. To

either, the beauty lies there because of the connection I have to it as an individual. Personally, fashion saved me. Is that dramatic? Maybe, but it's true and true for a lot of people. As mentioned before, fashion creates a space for one to express themselves. It is a safe way to experiment with your personality and to be able to show it off to the world. Ever since I was a child, fashion has been my love. To mix patterns and colors is exhilarating and inevitably beautiful. I say it saved me because of the way it allows me to be myself. Fashion is a safe space to express oneself. That is beautiful. I find that fashion can be misunderstood; though the world tends to misunderstand a lot. Fashion, and the industry that has been made, is known for its toxicity. Is that beautiful? No, but I still view fashion as beautiful. I know that not everyone would agree with me because of the contradiction, but again there is individualism. So maybe that's what I find beautiful. Not the fashion or the term itself, but the way it makes me feel. For anyone writing on what they find beautiful, I believe it is a stem of what makes them feel like an individual and what makes them have a sense of self.
